Okay, here I am with egg on my face, but I just can't figure this out. I got tracktion on my new computer, and I got my regular plug-ins happening. I got the Silver Edition Orchestra on my computer, and the Library (instruments, multis). I was planning to use the SEO samples as plug-ins but, the manual tells you lots of nice things about sounds and samples, but not really how to do that. Lest you think I'm a total noob, I did try pointing out the location of the library to Traction (plug-in path). But perhaps I'm just totally off my rocker and this whole thing works in a different way.On the good side -- this is SO FAST - I just mixed an 18 track instrumental, with effects (using my usual collection of sounds) - and rendered it in about 2 minutes - and didn't overload the CPU even once and got to hear the whole thing without clicks and pops and red lines. YEah!!!!
noob confusion :(

Re: noob confusion :(
Bird That's quite a milestone! Getting all those things to run and now being at a point where you can do it on the fly.... I remember when I tried recording through a PC about 12 years ago.... I was using cakewalk.... I spent about 11 hours of a 12 hour session reading manuals, swithching connections.... test this... test that... I would have loved to have gotten to a point where I could actually record.... thats wat made me give up and focus on just playing for 10 years before coming back to it and joining taxi... I know that doesnt help in a technical sense... but I mean the compliments as encouragement.....ArkJack

Hi Vikki,if you installed your SILVER according to the instructions, it should have put the plugin into your usual plugins folder (the installer would've suggested a suitable plugins folder during the installation process and asked you to confirm it). This plugin should show up in your list of plugins. You can then istantiate it (load it up) in the same way you normally instantiate plugins in Tracktion (I don't use Tracktion so I can't tell you how to do that), and then you'd load the individual sample instruments from inside of that plugin instrument. You'll also have to register the plugin on the Native Instruments website (as NI is the maker of the Kompakt Player which drives Silver). This should be explained in either the manual or accompaning documents/read me's).HTH,matto
