Country Lyricist Wants to Collaborate

Post by waltl » Wed Jul 29, 2009 6:39 am

I write country lyrics. I’m trying for a strong commercial appeal. I would like to collaborate with a country musician who would compose the music and do a demo that would interest TAXI. It would be a 50/50 co-write. You own 50% of the song; the other 50% is shared by my son, Alan, and me.I play guitar and can provide an idea of how the song might sound, if that would be helpful to you. I spend a good deal of time listening to, playing, and analyzing major country hits in an attempt to learn from them; songs recorded by George Strait, Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, Gary Allan, Josh Turner, Montgomery/Gentry, among others. Please email me at waltl001@verizon.net and send a link to your music. If you normally use a written co-write agreement, please send that. If not, I have an agreement for you to consider.Below is a link to a small sample of my songs. Below that is a recent lyric.http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... tent=music Be Careful What you Wish For© 2009 Walt Lamberg and Alan LambergVerse 1 She wore her wedding ring; it sparkled like her eyes. There was something in her smile; he thought he had a chance. Sitting at the bar, their faces almost touching, she said,“I’ll be going home to him, but you’ll have the last dance.” Chorus“Be careful what you wish for,” his Daddy used to warn."If you reach for the prettiest flower, Watch out for those sharp thorns.Be careful what you wish for, in case that wish comes true.If she’s stepping out on him, what makes you thinkShe won’t do the same to you?”Verse 2So it was late afternoons, stolen hours on the weekends. At first it was real exciting, but then again, When they finished dancing, it was the same old song. Nothing made her happy. If it was sunny, she missed the rain. Chorus RepeatBridgeOne night she shows up with her suitcase, tears in her eyes. She left her husband, couldn’t take it anymore, just one of many lies. And sure enough, its not too long before the new guy sits alone. She’s late for dinner once again, and she forgot to phone. And pretty soon they’re not dancing like they did before. He lies alone in bed and wonders what he was wishing for.Chorus Repeat

Do you have a vocalist, or would the composer need to supply that as well?

I was thinking that the composer/musician would also sing.
