You Write The Lyrics

Has anyone heard of this new show coming out this fall? http://www.youwritethelyrics.com/ Apparently it's a Songwriter's "American Idol" and they play a melody and songwriters have to write the lyrics for it in a competition.

Yeah, I heard about it and am anxiously waiting for more info. I just hope it's not the usual "open to residents of the US only" thing. I get excluded from these opportunities all the time because they're not open to Canadians.

what if you co-write it with an US Citizen?

yes, I looked into it @ the beginning of June but they didn't seem to be set up properly yet. When I looked at it before, I'm sure it said 'songwriters from all over the globe' could submit, but now it says, 'well, America..."I wasn't impressed because they had/have a contest to write lyrics for the cover song. You were to join their Facebook group, then download the song. Couldn't find where to download the music, nor can I find any terms regarding your submissions, yet.Everything seems a little vague.

I know...the whole thing seems vague but I'll still keep watching. No reason why I can't be the next Carrie Underwood to the songwriting world - lol!Andy - I like your thinking...and am totally up for the co-writing thing. And perhaps my Taxi membership could give me honourary dual citizenship
