The follies which a man regrets most, in his life, are those which he didn't commit when he had the opportunity. ~ Helen Rowland

The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. ~ Hunter S. Thompson

Good 'ol Hunter. I'll never forget seeing him being interviewed by Conan O'Brien. He would only do the interview if certain conditions were fulfilled. So it took place in the middle of the (Nevada?) desert in searing heat. There was an outdoor cocktail bar set up with a bartender in tuxedo and a temporary firing range with an array of firearms. The chaps sipped drinks while trying out the weapons. The most frightening part came when Hunter was firing off the Gatling gun... Ridiculous!

I heard that, following Hunter's Will, after he was cremated, his ashes were shot up in a rocket that exploded over his property. I heard there were a bunch of celebrities there.

I never considered myself part of rock 'n' roll. My stuff was more adult. It was more difficult for teenagers to relate to; my stuff was filled with more despair than anything you'd associate with rock 'n' roll. Since I couldn't see people dancing, I didn't write jitterbugs or twists. I wrote rhythms that moved me. My style requires pure heart singing.~ Ray Charles

I passionately hate the idea of being with it, I think an artist has always to be out of step with his time.~ Orson Welles
