Well, I actually recorded that a few years ago when I was singing live 2-4 times a week. I'll admit I was spraying whiskey in my throat at times. Those days are (hopefully) over! --- I've been working on material like this for a new rock trio, so when we start practicing in a rehearsal studio with mics and P.A., we'll see how my "cords" react! I'm working on my high chest-voice range, 'cause some of these songs call for an occasional high B. When I used to drink hard stuff, I could barely hit a G. I can still sing really high in head voice/falsetto, but I don't want to wimp out if I can help it!Ern

Ern,If you can pull off half of what I heard on "Run That Body Down," you'll be fine.I can't help but think that with some decent funding and pro marketing, guys like you could have gone a long way."I'm working on my high chest-voice range, 'cause some of these songs call for an occasional high B."Better you than me. The older I get, the deeper my voice gets. My range is getting smaller and smaller. Pretty soon the only thing I’ll be good for is singing bass for Doo-wop.By the way, thanks for sharing your secret throat formula. I've got to think a few of our forum buds are giving it a "shot" as we speak. Keep us in the loop on your trio as things progress. If you lay some tracks down, I'd like to check it out.Hang in!GB

Ern,Can you share what effects were on the guitar part? Delay settings, reverb, anything else? Was it double tracked left and right? Overdrive or distortion settings? Thanks.

After listening to this again, it sounds like pretty straight guitar/amp. I've got a '63 Strat with a Seymour Duncan "Hot Rail" humbucker bridge pickup into a Soldano tube preamp and a Peavey 60/60 tube power amp. The cabinet is a vintage Ampeg 2x12, close miked with an SM-57.The guitars are double tracked. The left guitar sounds like there may be a little Boss flanger on it, and the right guitar (and solo) sounds like there's about 30 ms of delay on it.If I DID use a distortion pedal, it was a Pro-Co Rat.That's it --- pretty simple! No wah wahs, no reverb, basically just cranked to 11! Best Regards,Ern
