Yes, I think your song is a fit. Mike Kelley did sing Rather Be Lucky for me, and also Same Shirt, Different Day. He's amazing the way he can jump back and forth between country and rock. He did a song for Liam Kelly (hmmm, haven't seen him on the boards lately?) that sounded like Don Henley. That Aussie singer's song "Yeah She Does" is awesome. I'd like to try writing something like that.Cam

I know, he's good. Jimi does good work down there. I'm always pleased. Yeah I don't know where Liam has been..?Yeah, that song is awesome. It's got a funky groove going. And I love the chorus on "Start the Car"

Re: For the country writers:
I think the main problem is radio. I live in the Nashville area and a lot of the music played on country radio should not be on country radio.I admire Taylor Swift, Shania Twain Keith Urban and so on, but its not country music. Its good music but I'm not sure where it belongs.

Re: For the country writers:
A lot of people want to write great country lyrics but what's on the radio today sounds like it was written at a starbucks over a latte and cream cheese bagel by some teenie bopper.

Good or Bad what we are hearing on the radio is what the industry is going to be pushing for a long time to come. With the paradigm shift weve seen in single Downloads over CD sales, the market is reverting back to the days of 45's. They wont be buying Lp's or full CD's. Single song downloads are here to stay. We have years of mediocrity and "hit" records with 1 or 2 good songs to thank. I fully realize that if I am going to be heard as a songwriter I am going to have to write to please the current market.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could write that one song that set us up so we could write what we are ?
