Oh really? I've heard of them, but I haven't heard their music before. Glad to know they sound good. I'm not sure I am after a really uptempo sound for that particular song, I was just using it as a reference. Thanks Hummingbird, that break down was very helpful.Andy

Good question. Take a song like "Got A Lot Of Leavin' Left To Do"; that song seems to me like it's got two tempi going on at once. You can think of it as fast or mid-tempo, there's a big backbeat on two and four, with an underlying 16th note pulse. Maybe it's slower than it appears because of the rather busy rhythm tracks, or maybe I hear it this way because I tend to think in subdivisions of the beat.

Good point Mojo. I've written stuff where I sing to 80 and then play my instruments to 160 and it feels like a fast song, even though the melody is really 80.Andy
