How about cool hit songs in odd meters? For instance 'Living In The Past', Jethro Tull in 5/4 or 'The Ocean', Led Zeppelin in 15/8. Radiohead's got one in 15/8 too but it's not a hit.

Well, the only song I know from Dark Side of the Moon is "Money". 7/4 I think, right?"rock-classics challenged" Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Does the intro to Whippin' Post by the Allman's count? or Take 5 by Brubeck & Desmond? My favorite 3/4 uptempo has to be What's New Pussycat, even tho I don't ever want to be around anyone massacering it, ever again.

Listen to some of Tool's music, they jump from 5/4, to 6/8, 3/4, 4/4 all in one song.... awesome stuff

I don't like Time changes that are "put on." But sometimes in 4/4 a two beat measure will just force itself on you and that is the only way the piece sounds right to you. "Don't Let Me Down," by the Beatles is changing Time throughout.I have written pieces where the time change was natural and the only way which sounded right. I have also chopped out parts of measures to shorten songs. That was not natural, and those pieces eventually got changed to normal meter again.

Interestingly, (or not) I never thought that the meter changed in "Don't Let Me Down", just the phrasing. "Whipping Post" has far and away my favorite 11/8 riff, though. p.s.: No love for Meshuggah?
