I saw Steely Dan during their first tour after their 15 year layoff to do heroin ("Tonight when I chase the dragon") and record fabulous sounding records.MAN, were they good! It was the best SOUNDING concert I've ever experienced. Like the most incredible stereo system you've ever heard! Donald Fagen is a genius, there's no doubt. And they had some Swedish guitarist that was one of the best players I've ever seen in my life. Made Walter Becker sound like Walter Brennan! Ern

Steely Dan is an excellent band. They made great music back then. But I do understand your point. Too much exposure to any one thing could cause dislike after a period of time (most things, not all ). It's like me, there was I time that I use ta' like chicken (when I lived at home with my parents). My wife is a freakin' chicken lover. She could eat chicken at least 3 times a week or more. Now....I absolutely HATE chicken. I pass on it as much as possible (I'm talkin' fried chicken here, not rotisserie or jerk). I've had too much over the past 18 years. So I understand your point completely. I'm a seafood lover. Need more shrimp, more crab, more lobster. Too damn expensive!

I saw them in 1973 opening for Elton John at San Diego's Balboa Stadium, then in 1974 at UC Irvine (with Skunk and I think Michael McDonald singing backup) then maybe 7 or 8 years ago in Phoenix. But my best story is about three years ago they were playing in Manchester, New Hampshire and I was in Montreal on business, so I decided to drive down from Montreal and see them. Except I went to Burlington, Vermont. I drove not only to the wrong friggin' city, BUT TO THE WRONG FREAKIN' STATE AS WELL!!! Boy did I feel stupid. To this day I get those two towns mixed up.My daughter hates 'em too, but I don't care. She just doesn't get it. No static at all....

Speaking of Babylon Sisters, I forgot to mention that I read somewhere that it took the backup singers something like 8 hours in the studio to get that "you gotta shake it baby, you gotta shake it baby, you gotta shake it baby, yeah" part down.
