If you want conversation, this is the place!Regarding your post - songwriters don't "sell" songs, they licence them. A good start might be to pick up John Braheny's "The Craft and the Business of Songwriting", which is a great primer for understanding how the music industry works and how songwriters get paid. It's crucial we understand the language of the industry and how to protect our work while still being open to, and understanding the ramifications of, opportunities that come along.warmlyHummin'bird

Hi, I'm Wig Nelson, new to TAXI also. I said hi, in another place here because I didn't see this thread for new members at the time.I write in many genres and have been at it for 30 years now.I collaborate with artists all over the world via the net. Lots of fun making new friends and sharing the electricity of a new song.Hope to see you around the forum, Wig

Welcome Sam and Wig. I've only be on here a few months myself but everyone has been very helpful. Just try to give as much as you receive in terms of critiques, etc. and I'm sure you'll find everyone will step up for you too. Good luck!Cameron
