I heard somethin' on the radio the other day that, were it not for the exaggerated bass and kick, coulda been Motown, but I'm still trackin' it down. The real stunner for me 'bout that video is that there are few edits and the camera never cuts away from the girl's face. How long has it been since you've seen a music vid that didn't have 500 cuts in it? Maybe it's a signal that music is becoming important enough to pay attention to again. One can only hope. And possibly pray.

eh, it just HAD to be a break up song, I hate break up songs, refuse to do them, but yeah, soul is coming back, theres quite a few young artists puttin out soul songs on b-sides anymore.

Mercy strikes me as more Atlantic than Motown. When the girls sing that punchy ooh ooh, I keep waiting for Duffy to start in with "For nine long years, I was your fool..." Go Aretha!

Yep, turns out "Mercy" was the song I heard on the radio. She was on Ferguson last night.

What grates is when the vocal hits the vintage-style limiter, reminds me of Aretha before she developed enough control...

Finally there are lot of old songs that can be redone....this is just one of my new favorite oldies redone by Mizz Crow and Dewight....did it live...these two are real pros when it comes to the vocals.....here there doing an old Sonny and Cher song...never done better...and it's live!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC5jb1pF0jg
