Your favourite misunderstood lyric?

Post by devin » Tue Jun 17, 2008 12:50 am

I know there's websites and stuff devoted to this fair topic...but have YOU personally misunderstood any famous lyrics? When did you figure it out?For the longest time, I thought Stevie Nick's "Edge of Seventeen" contained "just like a one winged dove". It wasn't until a friend bet me a beer, and then forced me to open the CD cover that I realized it was supposed to be "White Winged Dove"...

My husband cracked me up by singing along with Mr. Mister in the '80s:"Carry a laser down the road that I must travel" Kathleen

Hendrix occasionally sang it that way at shows. My favorites are "There's a bathroom on the right" by CCR and "Slow-motion Walter the fire engine guy" by Deep Purple.

mojo, you & milfus have got me crackin' up over here! "Slow-motion Walter the fire engine guy" That is freakin' hilarious! "excuse me, while i kiss this guy" It does sound like he's sayin' that though. I-468PS -- If ya' really wanna' hear some funked up lyrics, listen to some Black Oak Arkansas (Jim Dandy). When I looked up the lyics to some of their songs on their live album (Raunch N' Roll Live) I was like, "Damn, is that what he's sayin'?" Then it all made sense, cause I couldn't tell what the hell he was sayin' in most of the songs. All I knew is they were kickin' ass with their sound, and that's all that mattered at the time.

My wife swears that the first few times she heard a certain Bryan Adams song she thought he was singing 'I got my first real sex dream....' Liam
