Post by astroninja » Fri Jun 27, 2008 10:39 pm

We just wanted to check with you spunky spanky cool people if, legally, indie songwriters are allowed to use celebrity names in the title or lyric of a song? For example,"The Ballad Of <insert celebrity name here>"Does it violate any legal or copyright issues?Would really appreciate some advice for this topic THANK YOU! MUack

I used Angelina Jolie's name (and a reference to her thighs) in a song & it's been forwarded by Taxi & signed by a library & no one has said it was a no-no. Probably getting sued by her would be the best thing that could ever happen to me, although I'd rather not get my ass kicked by Brad Pitt.
