Have a favorite song coach?
Just thought I would ask to see if anyone has worked with a song coach that they really really liked. What was your experience like with that and how did it help you grow? Thanks,Marissa

You mean people get paid to tell other people what's wrong with their song? I do that for free!

I paid money to join Taxi! But seriously Marissa...I've found it hard to get quality feedback on my songs until I joined Taxi and the boards.I view it as "collaborative coaching"...post a song in peer to peer and ask folks to chime in. It's really beneficial.

<<<<< See over there, fine upstanding Taxi forum member. I will be your song coach. As your new song coach, the first thing you'll need to do is let everyone here listen to a song, and be prepared to have your ego smashed to smithereens. We all do it, and continually go thru the pain of it. That'll be $5.

Well, there's always ME, of course. But seriously, I use Taxi's custom critique service as well as John Braheny and Pat Luboff. And this forum.

I've found Bird to be less painful than some other routes. Steve needs to get to the Rally though cuz we have binness so he'd be good too. Myself, I use a small network of friends and my own internal Nazibitch, who provides me with 24/7, individualized service and is only after one thing. My sanity. I'm not sure I can hire her out. She seems uncommonly devoted. I wish she'd go though. I'm equally not sure you'd want her.....I have to stomp on her fierce when someone here asks for a critique and I have a bit of time on my hands. And what she does to me personally. Well, let's jes say my therapist bought a vacation condo this year.

Re: Have a favorite song coach?
Thanks all. Vicky, I've also used Pat Luboff and am quite happy with the results, but it's always nice to see who others have found helpful. I find it helpful especially when I'm about to demo something, to make sure I've tied up all the loose ends and fully considered the arrangement, etc. I use these critiques and NSAI evals, but it is nice when you get to dialogue with someone! Thanks everyone for the input.
