Keep in mind this was recorded with a mic plugged straight into an e-machines home computer sound card and Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.Still, it has to be probably my favorite thing I ever wrote. thanks Kathleen~i had an e-machines computer too (go Korea!;)Daelen's prayer is..funky at :58 the song really opens itself up! it has epic (and dark) lyrics and feels light with it's soulful melodyand due to the topic of the thread(i know this is for a musical),but i can really see it as an opening tune for an animation.and wow you plugged straight in to the sound card? the vocals seem pretty clean, so nice job~ why kind of mic wasit if i may ask?(im always asking about mics;) fun still for sure! thanks for showing us Kathleen!(and for the movie info too)

This was back when I had no clue about recording (not that I do now!) and I was just happy to be able to make an mp3!Kathleen

That was my whole investment. Since then I've also bought EWQLSO Silver XP and I don't foresee myself outgrowing any of those things anytime soon!Kathleen

no doubt, its a great little mic, specially if you are fighting room noise, I used one exclusively for like 4 years, just because ambient noise made a condenser hard to use, and for aggressive vocals and guitar amps and stuff, i still go for the sm's

It's hard to say, because I write in a number of different genres and different moods. I will say that none of my music would ever end up in a Western movie.

Cool thread Geoff, for me.... an updated version of "The Big Chill"... the first movie I liked that didn't have a gun in it!!! That is one of my favorite soundtracks and movies of all time....Peace, Geo

Hey Geoff!I'm like the Squids & the H'bird! At this point, anything that pays. I'm not particular (at least not at the moment) about where a piece of my music might end up (besides the garbage), as long as I could get compensated for it. That's the whole purpose for this, or so I thought. I-468

All my songwriting life, the next one has been completely different than the one before it. I think I have Genre A.D.D. So I guess the movie wouldn't matter...it would be just as thrilling to have some incidental background music behind a scene as it would to hear a proper song play at the opening credits. ANY music of mine used in a movie would blow my mind.
