Re: Pricing question for the industry people
I think this is an excellent question with the answer tied to the "usage" of the music. I have had these questions (and many others) and found the best reference to be a book called "Music, Money, And Success: The Insider's Guide To Making Money In The Music Industry" written by Jeffrey Brabec and Todd Brabec. I found this via ASCAP and TAXI and think it will help you answer your licensing questions. Using an industry lawyer is always the best thing but when you dont have those relationships (or money to pay for legal services) then this book should really help. I agree with others that if there is little potential for future royalities then I would build in the price upfront.

Ok....so I'll check out that book... Can anyone recommend a resource for finding a lawyer that would have the proper experience? So far, I've been using lawyers.com which has thus far yielded only marginal results but maybe if I just keep pounding the pavement...
