Learning to live"'The aim of life' says Henry Miller, 'is to live and to live means to be aware, joyously, serenely, divinely aware'. Developing a positive, confident attitude to the possibilities and changes that life presents is within the capability of all of us, and Time for You accommodates this flexibility. Learning to give yourself a break, to play, takes practice. But nothing happens until we take responsibility, and decide that we are more than who we have learned to be. And the rewards are incalculable. Our lives are of our own making and it is down to us to decide the outcome."I love this quote & I try to live by this philosophy. I have the first part of it as a magnetic sign that sits on my music stand.... but there's something missing... it should be:'the aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware' Now I'm sure Mr Miller didn't mean we should go out and drink. He meant that we should feel "drunk" with bliss as we live our dreams awake. H'Bird
"As we are creative beings, our lives become our works of art." (Julia Cameron)

Re: Think and grow (into a) Rich (songwriter)
Hey guys-I had an experience today, that I am so excited to share! After this, I really feel like the universe is listening...I wrote down a goal a couple months ago, to be earning X Dollars per hour working from home part time by March 1st. I do freelance graphic design, and the target hourly rate was significantly higher than what I'd been making. I took some time of work to study and learn some new skills. Last week, I put up a new portfolio site, and sent off an updated CV to a couple of places. And discouragingly, I didn't get any calls all week, or hear back from anyone. I found myself getting a little hopeless today that it had been a week, and I hadn't gotten any calls yet. I noticed that I was losing faith in the fact that work was going to come to me (a belief that almost by itself has kept me working for over 2 years now of being freelance). I told myself to just trust in that work will come.About two hours later, I got a call from someone wanting me to start on a freelance project right away at exactly the target hourly rate I had written down! Now I have no doubt that the universe is listening! I also got my first TAXI critique back today, which while it didn't get forwarded was far more encouraging than I had expected. And I got some very encouraging song feedback from Pat and Pete Luboff today. I'm thinking that I don't give myself enough credit! That is about to change now!Keep dreaming, everyone, and thanks for all being here!Elliott
