Anyone got a list of great songwriters who had that certain chemistry together, that indefinable something that made for great songs and collaborations? For instance.....Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Simon/Garfunkel, Brewer/Shipley (nope, they didn't make but one tune top 10, I jes really liked them), Deborah Harry and Chris Stein, Hall and Oates, and absolutely, Glen Tillbrook and Chris Difford from Squeeze (I so wanna remake "Tempted" I can't stand it).And of course, we have those in the early 1900s too. But let's not date ourselves.

Good list, Squiddy. Hey, who were the songwriters that wrote a lot of Motown hits together, Lieber and Stoller (dang, I can't spell)....that's another one. I love Hall and Oates. My husband used to sing "Your Kiss" in a dirty way though, we won't say how though, hehe.

The only ones I can think of at the moment are Isaac Hayes and David Porter.Sure, I'm game to hear how your husband sings "Your Kiss"!! We're all here to learn, right?

Instead of singing it 'because your kiss, your kiss is on my lips," he'd substitute a p in place place of the k in 'kiss.' He thought he was being so cute....it's a MAN thing, I guess. We could start a whole thread devoted to the way people substituted certain words for other words in song, or how they heard the song, instead of the way it was sung.
