14 songs in 28 days - a songwriting challenge

Post by hummingbird » Sun Jan 28, 2007 8:22 am

Hey - anyone here interested in the February Album Writing Month Songwriting Challenge? It's a personal challenge (like the 50 songs in 90 days challenge that runs in the summer). Participating songwriters challenge themselves to write 14 songs in 28 days (it can be just lyrics, just music, complete songs... it's just a way to keep yourself motivated). The website is http://www.fawm.org There's an option to post lyrics and/or demos and share them with other participants and get critiques and encouragement as you go.I'm signed up! I like personal creative challenges. They motivate me ... and ergo, write things I would not have written without that push to write. Occasionally they're actually good cheersHummin'bird

An interesting idea, Vicki. But for me it would just be a distraction. I have so many musical irons in the fire I would not have room for another. My entire emphasis now is to get ready for my second year as a Taxi member by polishing my existing recordings and making new ones. I already know I can write until the day I am too sick to continue. I have proven that to myself. Now I have to get it out there.Good luck in the contest.

I signed up because I planned to write an album this year anyway, so it seemed like a good way to start
