Elizabeth and Neil, you did a fantastic job. I love listening to performers over a great sound system. How you get it right for so many kinds of voices and styles is amazing. And signing up makes it so much easier to plan runs up to our rooms, warm-up or practice, drinks (of water, I mean), other drinks, meals, etc. Suz, I'll pitch in to pay for extra chocolate for these guys.Bette

Neil, You and Elizabeth do a great job up in the theater open mic. It takes a lot of patience to deal with all the personalities you have to face (especially after happy hour!), and you do it with grace, patience and kindness.
Keep smilin'!

Thanks everybody for your kind words. I can't express how much of a thrill it was to run the 2nd Stage Open Mic. There's so much talent, and such diversity. It's just such a unique opportunity, what with the huge number and variety of musicians in the one place at one time. Thanks also to everyone who gave us their CD. We are in the process of listening and enjoying all of them. AND the other cool thing was meeting the folks who write here on the Forums. We'd met some of you, but not all of you. Putting faces to the names was also lots of fun. Also everyone check out YouTube....some videos have started to appear from the Road Rally, including panel, seminars and both Open Mics. Just type "TAXI Road Rally" into the YouTube search. This is my favorite vid so far: Anthony Snape, during the Kara DioGuardi session in the Ballroom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH0IQ7VnTogEnjoy!--Neil Z (and Elizabeth) of Pairadeuxwww.pairadeux.com

I remember walking by, hearing this playing and thinking, "I wonder who THAT is... sounds great!" I had hit overload on the sessions. My head was spinning so I started looking for a way to get outdoors. Listening to this piano playing and then an impromptu jam session of guitarists out on the patio with a guy dancing to the pure joy of the music reminded me what the conference was all about. Thanks for that moment.

OH... And Miss Elizabeth and Neil, thanks for two great nights of Open Mic (I only made it to Thursday and Saturday... long story.) "Suicide Toad" sticks out in my mind, along with Miss Elizabeth's very sexy song and a guy singing "...and though I don't have the brains of a kitchen appliance..." I loved the trio that sang classic R & B on Thursday night with a lead vocalist that blew me away, the infectious fun of "Whoa Nelly" and, well, everyone.I wish there was a place that I could go to weekly that had that variety and level of talent on display. It's a total pleasure... best show in town and it's free.
