Thanks for posting this info, Mazz. It's 'everything you ever wanted to know about film/tv and didn't even know about' time, lol---I think the Sat morning panel (9:30 am, Grand Ballroom) will be useful for anyone interested in what writing for film/tv is like. We're each going to be playing a couple of pieces from our cataloque, and talk about why that piece works for film/tv. You'll hear some great tips or get the low-down on unique techniques that you can use in your own work; and also hear music that's been signed - always an education.---1:45 pm on Sunday (National Rm) is Matt, Mazz and Dave talking about "The 5-Year Plan: A Film/TV Music Business Plan". I think this will be a valuable class as well, and I've definitely got it marked as a "must see". This class will focus on the production music library side of Film and TV as well as the Underscore/Indie film side. Meet three TAXI members who are all at different stages in the "5-year plan" or beyond. There will be a brief overview of what production music libraries do, the various models that exist, where the money comes from and when, and how much is realistic. Some of the questions that will be answered are: What are the different markets that use library music? How to build your catalog and how big should it be? Should you specialize in one style or do as many different things as possible? How do you "research" a library to know if they do a good job? Should you find one library and sign all your tracks with them or put your eggs in many different baskets? Don’t miss this class to learn from your fellow members who have been there and done that!---3:30 pm on Sunday (Kennedy Rm)... 'You Can Give the Music Industry What it Wants and Still be Creative'....it's Mazz, Chuck, Suz, and I discussing being creative and commercial at the same time.... and giving tips/techniques on staying inspired and productive under the gun.Long-time TAXI members talk about how successful composers stay inspired in the face of conflicting instructions, industry-defined 'must haves', & time constraints. If you aren't as prolific as you'd like to be, or if you can't get your head around writing “commercial music” - this class is for you!Hope to see you there!!

Mazz, I will be at all of those for sure, especially the Sunday one. I was hoping for some kind of chance to pick your brain anyway, and this will provide me with that opportunity! Cool!-Bobby
