Chuck and Dave got played too!!
Our friends Chuck (crs7string) and Dave Walton got played at listening panels too!! I was there, I heard them!Chuck's was a cool "Hot Club of France" style jazz piece and Dave's was a very nice world/electro film/tv piece. They sounded really nice over the big sound system in the big room (at least where I was sitting)Congrats guys!!!!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: Chuck and Dave got played too!!
It was cool to have a track played. It made it much easier to approach a panelist and they were a little more open when you were able to say "The Gypsy Jazz track was mine"I ran into Matto as I was getting a refill on coffee and he said "Didn't you have a track played last year too? I've been coming to the Rally for years and they never play my tracks"I had a one word reply "Payola"Vikki the Bassplayer had a great 7/4 jazz instrumental played at one of the listening panels and it sounded great.I joked with Mazz after they played his track and he stood to be recognized by the crowd that he now only has 14 1/2 minutes of fame left.Kurt Kremier had a piece played as well.Congrats to all for the "luck of the draw" working in their favor.Chuck

I can confirm Chuck's good fortune, I was sitting next to him when the track was played. As was said, it was a cool piece and I particularly liked the easy time feel.I still owe you that coffee, Chuck, I won't forget. After next rally, you will owe me. --Andy.

Next year, I need to get more people to OWE ME, I'll have a much smaller bar bill. Chuck

Re: Chuck and Dave got played too!!
Me too!!!I scored twice. I had a song played in the panel "Is My My Music Broadcast Quality?". They said the track worked but needed a better mix. I'm not surprised because I am just learning how to mix and know that it needs work. The first night of the Rally, they called my name at the Open Mic. I was the 4th performer of the Rally. Last year, I didn't get chosen for the Open Mic or any panel so I hadn't expected anything. I had signed up for the small Open Mic upstairs when Bill Gordon called me on my cell and said they just called my name. I ran down and played Benefits then I ran upstairs and played Couldn't Walk Away.Congratulations to Che's family. her 11 year old (I think) son got called for the Open Mic and her 17 year old son won a Yamaha acoustic guitar.Congrats also to IC Greene (Kelly and Jon Green's brother?) who's song got highly praised at the last panel and is also a featured Taxi artist.
