Dave and The Dots

Post by chrisbee » Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:45 pm

Sorry, but I just had to start this thread with that reference.First off, I just wanted to thank everyone from the forum I met (not to mention Michael!!!) for a fantastic weekend. I can't tell you all how wonderful it was to meet & hang out with my peers. Steve Gilbert said to me within the first 10 minutes of meeting him that the social part of the weekend was the main thing he enjoyed and at first I didn't get it. I thought that, well yea, I'm certainly there to meet new people, see my friend Dave Walton and finally meet Matt, but the main thing was that I wanted to talk to a few certain music execs that would be there.Over the course of the weekend, the latter happened, but man... the most fulfilling part by far was putting names to screen-names, faces to avatars and just hanging with my peers. I never met a single person from this forum that had a discouraging word for me (or each other) or even had an attitude. We are truly excited for each other's successes. Wow... Having experienced the opposite in my life as an artist, that's refreshing and pretty dang cool...talk to y'all soon - and I'll see you next year!Oh, and Matt - I need a plumber. Can you recommend one? cb

I agree with Chris... the hang was the best part. You guys are cool. And Dave's daring dot idea was dope. Having a built in gang to hang with made the Rally.

I've gotta post to voice my agreement, to stumble into a gathering of all these people I knew from reading the forums but had no faces for (at 2AM Saturday night no less) was crazy and tons of fun. I felt like Dorothy coming back from Oz, only with the Forums being Oz and LA being Kansas, well you get the idea "and you were there! And YOU were there! All of you!" It was way too much fun for me, being a longtime reader and seldom poster. Now I guess I'll be posting more though!-Bri
