One out of two for CCM listing

Post by bigbluebarry » Thu Jul 03, 2008 1:08 pm

CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SONGS are wanted immediately by a well-established Independent Christian Music Group with major distribution, for a female Worship artist. No particular musical style is specified, but the sound should definitely be contemporary and current. The form should be familiar and accessible to today’s Worship music and the lyrics should be appropriate for this style. Overtly Christian lyrics and scriptural references are preferable for this one, but all appropriate lyric approaches will be considered. The label is looking for approximately ten worship songs for this established artist’s next project which will begin production in two weeks. It would be the best choice to present your song(s) with female vocals, but songs with male vocals will be considered as well since they will be re-recording/producing the material. Touching, poignant, meaningful lyrics are needed here along with a contemporary melody and musical setting. While sound quality and production aren’t the primary factors here, you’ll want to present your song in a professional manner - the better it sounds, the more appealing and accessible it is to the listener. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by Noon PST on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. TAXI #D080624CCI had one song get returned, "Hallelujah" - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... 6&stream=1, and one song that got forwarded, "Emmanuel" - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=1.What a great way to start out a 3-day weekend!- Big Blue

jude3... You're not missing anything. There's a trend in contemporary/modern P&W songs where the second verse is just a repeat of the first. Thanks again to everyone who replied. It's been a great weekend

I really liked your song "Emmanuel". I also had a couple of forwards for this listing. It is always nice to be rewarded for your efforts. As a worship musician I understand the nature of using the same verse because of audience and worship participation. Just one comment-quit being so good I don't need the competition. Go write Heavy Metal or something. Just Kidding and God Bless Your Works.
