#1 - take the fact that the A&R rep was not willing to give contact info to an unknown musician at face value. In fact, she was right to not give you any info because you can't handle it, and she knew it.http://youtube.com/watch?v=MYbRjm7fTQ4 #2 - this business is about relationships. If, instead of asking for her card, you had asked her how she was, and if she had time to answer a couple of questions, and listened carefully to her replies... perhaps you would have ended up having a great conversation with a cool person who just happens to be an A&R rep... and at the end, perhaps she would have asked for your card or CD. Or perhaps not. But you would have gone away with something valuable.#3 - case in point, I was in the Starbucks line-up at my first Rally, chatting with the folks around me about the Rally & the weather & music, and the upcoming wedding of the guy behind me, there with his lovely finance. Finally I asked, what he did in music.... turned out he was a music publisher... and he gave me his card. I didn't ask for it.#4 - I'd be interested to know about your positive experiences at the Rally
