The short answer is No. I went to both in 2006 as well as TAXI 2005. The is plenty to learn from and people to connect with at ASCAP. Some of ASCAPs presentations were truly amazing. I am booked again to go this year. The primary difference between the two is that ASCAP is more 'business' oriented. There are not a lot of jam sessions and open mikes etc. In the evenings there are free concerts. So, the community and fellowship that characterizes the Road Rally is absent, but If you're looking to connect with industry and network with other segments of the the music biz, then I highly recommend it.

In 2006 I was fortunate enough to get some forwards from TAXI that resulted in getting a few tunes placed in music libraries which prompted me to become an ASCAP member this past year. So, I'm treating myself to the ASCAP Expo in April.Anyone up for a TAXI member dinner one of the nights?Arthur
