Fastest forward ever!
Man. I've never had results come through in less than 24 hours before, but this one did. TGV was forwarded for this dispatch listing:BANDS AND ARTISTS FROM ALL GENRES (but primarily Alt Rock bands or Hip Hop groups) are sought after by a Film/TV Production company currently casting for a new Reality TV show airing on a popular cable network. This listing ran in March and the band they used for the pilot was a TAXI band. They’ve now secured the whole series and will be needing 8 groups in all, from a variety of genres and backgrounds. They’ve come directly to TAXI with this request and are offering a guaranteed interview with the Casting Director if you are forwarded. As a standard casting procedure, they do accept unsolicited submissions via their website, but have made very clear that the primary focus will be on submissions they receive from TAXI. They’re looking for a band/group that has talent and potential, but is struggling with one or more members in terms of moving forward with their career. It could be that a member has an addiction problem, or a less serious (but annoying) responsibility problem, a gambling issue, or an inability to cooperate with the rest of the band in one way or another. The scenarios could be vast, but they really want a band with personality who’s not afraid to “show their dirt” to the TV audience. They will be open to using the band’s songs on the show, granted that the quality is there. There will be on camera/live performance opportunities, in addition to full promotion of the band and their music. They are open to bands/groups worldwide and are willing to travel to wherever you are located. They’d love to hear samples of your tunes, so submit 1-3 songs online or per CD and INCLUDE A PHOTO AND BIO - we won’t be able to forward you without a photo & bio. Also, if you have links to YouTube or My Space videos, include those in your bio so the company can see you as well. Good luck! All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than 10am PST on Monday, June 2, 2008. TAXI #D080602TVThe songs submitted were: Dooya Doncha Hey Mr Man SkinOur story is one about a band who's lead singer/writer is hopelessly addicted to an internet forum Seriously, it's pretty cool that this forward means we will be interviewed by the casting director. Though we just had our CD release show Saturday night, there are quite a few struggles right now within TGV. I won't go into detail here, but I think we have a story or two that would make for good reality tv (is that an oxymoron?)Aub

Re: Fastest forward ever!
Thanks everyone. The amazing speed continues. Submitted just before noon my time yesterday -- got the forward around 11:30am today -- and on my way home about 6:30 pm today, got a call from the casting director. The first few of the 8 episodes they are filming will be in California, but we are on the list to be considered after that. In such a glacial industry, something happening this fast is pretty amazing. Now I'm just waiting for their email with more details. Here's hoping the camera crew ends up in Oklahoma City.Aub

Wow...how cool is that?!?Way to go...it will be really insightful to see how dramatic they portray the whole dynamics of the group if you get in. I'm sure they can "selectively edit" a course of a normal week and make it look either super-duper or total anarchy.Best of luck...here's hoping you get a chance to try it out! Even the chance to network with the sound people on such an event has to be beneficial (as long as it isn't Simon's nastier sister, etc).Congrats!!!
