First forward as a 'female' :)

Post by liamkelly » Tue May 06, 2008 8:42 am

Guitarrero's rerecording of one of my tracks (with a female singer) was forwarded today Does this make me a sort of 'girl-by-proxy? Do I have to get fashion tips from Vikki, Squids, Chits and Anne? Is pink spandex still in ? The listing was:FEMALE ROCK SONGS a la The Donnas, Kittie, L7, Bikini Kill, Veruca Salt, etc. are needed immediately by the Music Supervisor for a new cable TV Reality Show that revolves around the family of one of America’s most recognized stars. He’s looking for uptempo primarily, but may be open to midtempo as well. The primary focus is the attitude of the lyrics/melody - everything from rebellion and anger to having fun/partying and getting into trouble. He might even be interested in a few tender/vulnerable lyrics about chasing dreams or falling in love. He ONLY wants songs with FEMALE VOCALS, for this listing. All recordings need to be broadcast quality, but excellent home recordings should be okay as long as they sound great! Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. As usual, you will be notified by email whether your submission is returned or forwarded. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received by Noon PST on Friday, May 2, 2008. TAXI #D080502RKLiam

Big congrats, Liam! LOL, I'm glad you get to show your feminine side. I'd like to edit this post to say good job to Martin too.

My dearest Liamnesse Congratulations!!! I think that's a huge accomplishment, to be a guy and write something that women can sing. Women can do it but it's been a male dominated world for so long that we're used to it. Shows how delightfully talented you are!Fashion hint #1: Pink spandex is out, although you can try pink cotton mixed with polyester and a touch of spandex. I'm sure it'll be flattering, with your coloring. Great track, good job Martin and way ta go Liam!!

LIAM!!!!!!!!wooHOO!!! I actually just embarrassed myself (and startled the 10 other people sitting near me) by "wooHOO"-ing out loud.Couldn't be happier to hear this news. And I won't even bother saying "I told you so", cause that would be tacky beyond belief. Ted

Nice work! Can I hear it anywhere? I checked out your myspace, but it wasn't obvious...P.S. Don't worry about the pink thing. Just do laundry like I do, and everything comes out pink...no shopping required!

That's a great tune! Congrats to you and Gitarrero for the great team-up.P.S. I'm not hearing a lot of pink in that tune...stronger colors like black or red are very possible though!(but still be careful around that washing machine...trust me).Best of luck with it...a well deserved forward.
