Invincible
Hi all,I got this demo back today - my first ever "professional" one (from Studiopros). This is the first song I wrote for my girlfriend (now wife) so I decided to have it demo'd up - and got her permission to check out any commercial angles on it...Because of where it's at I hope I only need to change mix/production stuff at this point - though I'd love to hear all comments and suggestions please. It's at http://www.taxi.com/tt - called "Invincible".Thanks for the listen!ttInvincibleI know it’s time, it’s time I know.Choke the kerosene lampsand stow your guns belowv1::Because everything’s in symphonySo shake off those black dogs; foil their infamy.Though today seems hard, you’re feeling done;Tomorrow will shine like the golden sunpc::Oh I tell you there is nothing to defend,I’ve worked it out, you’re safe again. My love you’re mine until the endSo dry your eyes ‘causec::It’s alright, you’re invincibleIt’s alright, you’re untouchableLike sunlight on the cloud belowJust hold tight, I won’t let you gov2::Oh when everything’s on fire and nothing is clearThere’s just smoking trails burnt through the atmosphereFeet first, you’re falling fast – the ground rushing up beneathOh baby don’t be afraid, I tell you now because because becauseIt’s alright - you're invincible. It's alright.b::Hold on -Hey don't give in,The days will light up and the earth will spinJust hold on -I'm here with you,The haze will rise up as the sun comes shining through

Re: Invincible
Good production. Solid top to bottom. The structure is fine in my book and is different throughout the song and therefore interesting. Since you demoed this tune please detail what you submitted and any parts that you perform in the demo.

Nice Tune TT. Great imagery in the lyric; would make a nice them for a 'super hero' movie or show. Best of luck with this track, and thanks for posting it!Erich

Re: Invincible
Todd,I like the production and the song is well written. My only concern with the structure is you've shortened the chorus only the 2nd time it's heard in the song--seems like you lose a little momentum that way.If this were my song, I'd ask for more emotion in the vocal, especially during the choruses. It seems too restrained to me.It does sound like a song that could be useful in many sync to picture situations. Congrats!Vince

Great job man ! I also think this would be great for tv or film. I agree with ideascapes about the chorus but this is not a style I know much about. But if I was looking for tv & film music I would definitely want it in my catalog.
Find something you love to do so much you will do it for free, and learn to do it so well they will pay you for it.

Re: Invincible
Hey Carlos, thanks for your comments. I produced a complete song with all parts/instruments/vocals very similar to the Studiopros demo - it's just that my recorded performances and programmed sounds were very rough (i.e. poor) in comparison. I was generally quite particular that they follow my demo exactly, though Phil at Studiopros did the vocals and improvised the timing a bit, and the bass guitarist thankfully completely ignored my one-finger keyboard bass and did something I'm very happy with. I sent them a few finished tracks of my own such as the organ, the intro pad and the effects sounds.Erich, Lyricboy, Derek, Dean and Angelica, thanks very much for your comic/hero film/tv comments - I'm detecting a theme - I'd not actually thought of that (I wrote it before I knew about Taxi and tv/film pitch opportunities etc), though the lyrics do kind of lend themselves to that type of thing!Vince I'm glad you listened, thanks. I see yours and Jay's point about the curtailed second chorus/momentum thing -considering the assumed expense of doing it now, would you fix it? (for sync, do they ever use full songs?). I'd be keen to know your thoughts if you do read this. Regarding the emotion in the vocal, funnily enough i actually did get a second take done specifically asking for more emotion, but surprisingly to me I ended up preferring the slightly cooler, cruisier way he did it the first time. Thanks very much everyone for listening to this.tt
