Yo IBZ!!!Yeah it's definitely been awhile, how have you been keeping bud? Hope creativity is constantly flowing through you! Thanks for your kind words, they are much appreciated! Yeah I've been playing around a lot with the EWQL SO, I'm saving up to buy their composer's package, because I do feel that the SO is lacking in the percussions side of things, so I'm thinking stormdrum should help with that, but with this piece I decided to infuse SO and Stylus.Take CareB

The sounds work well with the East West libraries. There are many choices of instruments. Cymbal rolls with mallets and sticks, drum rolls, tympani rolls, etc. It's a very deep library. You may want to look for a sale. Mazz and I picked this up around Christmas for $299.Mazz quotes some joker in his footer as saying:"you can never have too many options for drums"Personally, I believe the guy.HTH ChuckBTW the "joker" is me.

Hey Brad,I like the way you pull the percussion in and out at the beginning--sort of a tease (I think the orchestral instruments could be a bit louder there). Nice balance once the guitars come it--full, but not too crowded. Sounds like a winner!Vince

Hey Vince,Many thanks for taking the time to listen and for taking the time to give me some feedback - MUCH APPRECIATED!!!I know what you mean about the orchestral piece in the beginning, I've kept it soft because I wanted to build it up (the best piece of advise my fiancee gave me was telling me to give my songs MORE dynamics) hence the soft pieces slowly building up, but I do think that the violins could come up a little more...Take CareB

Cool!Nice piece. I saw the earlier comment in favor of the opening percussion coming in and out. It's an interesting musical effect, but I wonder if the starting and stopping of momentum (which also happens in the strings) will make it harder for a film editor to fit the music to picture. Just something to consider. The string melody starting at about 27 seconds drags a bit and might speak better using an articulation with a faster attack. Have you thought of adding winds and brass in certain places? The triplet figures that appear a couple of times could be doubled on other instruments, i.e., winds, brass, or percussion (xylophone for example). Just a way to add more colors - and dynamics! All in all, very well done.Richard
