BUSINESS NEWS THEMED INSTRUMENTALS are needed by an East Coast Music Publisher who has secured dozens of Film/TV placements for TAXI writers over the years. He is looking for orchestral instrumentals with Pop/Rock elements. He definitely does not want Rock tracks. The compositions should represent the images of money, the economy, Wall Street, budget, home foreclosures, unemployment, etc. He does want the tone of the pieces to be more positive than negative though.Okay, here's my take on the business/news listing.Business Worldwww.richardemmet.com/BusinessWorld.mp3This began by taking a stereo recording of old electronic piece (from apprx. 15 years ago) and editing it to a minute, then adding all the orchestra instruments with a bit of processing.Richard

It has the perfunctory typewriteresque percussion underpinning it and the right type of movement harmonically that would support pans special effects and all sorts of eye candy for the beginning of a News Cast. Really nice writing. I always enjoy your stuff. I predict a forward!Erich

Hi Richard - great piece. It has the right intensity for a news piece - BUT I don't hear the pop/rock element they're looking for. I also wonder if it might be a little too upbeat as it goes on?!!!Georgie

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll have to wait to find out if the lack of rock/pop elements prevented a forward. There is an underlying psuedo-techno rhythmic layer beneath the orchestration. But the more I added orchestral instruments, the less you could hear it.Maybe I'll post the underlying track by itself later today, just to lend some perspective.Richard
