Re: Creeping around
Hello SteveNo particular listing It was written as a potential suspence cue for film and TV I figure sooner or later you also ways get a listing like that.I guess the mood I was going for was some body creeping around in a film or some thing, hence the name

Re: Creeping around
spaceSounds very filmy to me especially the second half.Someone lurking kinda vibe. Not my genre, but the note at 5 seconds made me sqirm a bit. Like I said, it gets betters as it plays.Paul

Just keep writing, you'll find a place for most everything you write at some point. There was a period where there were no instrumental Taxi listings for several weeks. I think it was Mazz who suggested to pick a genre and write a CD's worth of material. You'll then have lots of stuff to pick from when an opportunity presents itself as well as improving your craft. My problem is that I seem to require deadlines to motivate me! I used to be able to write just to collect ideas when I was younger, but it seems much harder for me now. And now that there have been several great opportunities of late, I've somehow run out of time to write something for them!Regarding this piece, there are some very interesting textures going on. It begins with a nice flute melody that suddenly turns dissonant with the other instruments fighting for attention. In many ways it borders on too much - too many different textures. There is a really nice moment in the middle of the piece where the bass clarinet is by itself. Space is a really beautiful thing.Overall I think you're on the right track. Take a listen to some Bernard Herrmann scores. He was a master of "less is more".Steve

Re: Creeping around
Thanks Paul Steve, I think the reasoning makes sence to me, you will also have more material to subbmitt when a libary asks you for some subbmissions. Also thanks for the head up on the Bernard Herrmann scores I shall check it out Darren
