High crime

Post by ncc1701 » Fri May 15, 2009 6:49 pm

Here's my foray into the world of high/uptempo investigative drama material. Instrumentally, it's pretty old-school, but I'll take whatever feedback anyone wants to give."The Chase"http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ueKathleen

Kathleen,To me the orchestration works great, but the drum loop might put this in the unusable category. I think you'd have to use some sort of modern percussion or even hire a live drummer.Vince

It wasn't nearly finished but I kept working on it and re-uploading each new version until this one.May 16, 2009, 5:00am, ideascapes wrote:Kathleen,To me the orchestration works great, but the drum loop might put this in the unusable category. Do you really think it would sound better with "live" drums? 'Cos I can try that.

Really interesting piece. I like the writing and arrangement. The bass lines and horn lines have a vintage Chick Corea and the Electrik Band vibe. Drums don't work for me on this either. I'd like to hear Dave Wekyl playing on this, or short of that something with more 'grrrrr.....' to it.Best of luck with this song!Erich
