Rock mix: Fortune

I tried to mix one of my tracks myself (the other songs on my soundcloud profile have been mixed and mastered professionally).http://soundcloud.com/anotherdan/fortune-4Can this be considered broadcast quality - and used for taxi submissions?Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.- Dan

Dan,The mix sounds good. Vocal could come up in volume a bit and is probably too pitchy for broadcast use.The guitars sound good, but, the sound that appears in the new section at about 2:00 could be improved.Vince

hi Dan,I agree with Vince abt the vocal parts... a little pitchy... melodyne perhaps?Guitars are nice... hmmm, I'm not feeling the broadcast quality in this mix just yet...The drums need a bit more clarity I feel...Still needs some work... IMHO.I like that guitar solo and it's tone =)All the best with the mix... Hope I've been some help..Kel

Thanks alot guys.I have updated the track on soundcloud, the drums have been processed a lot more. Learned alot in the process of this mix - paralel compression, sidechain compression and so on.I know there are some pitch issues, I cant afford melodyne, hope the new logic update have the functinoality builtin. I had some other takes i was able to look at and some of vocal pitches are not as evident anymore. Maybe it's because I have listened to it alot in this phase, it doesnt bother me that much the vocal's are not 100% on-the-spot, hehe...Current version I have some how F^cked up the vocal compression a bid - urgh... Have fixed the vocal compression but not able to upload to anything now, stalling... Crappy internet here... Well will be availible tonight, will comment when it's up. Thanks again guys...
