3 more karaoke: Van Halen + The Who

Post by ideascapes » Wed May 06, 2009 4:04 am

3 more karaoke tunes that have been a blast to work on. I've only included excerpts and arranged them as a medley in one file (total only 4 minutes) so you wouldn't have to listen a to a lot of instrumental music. No vocals on these: Roger Daltrey and David Lee Roth, I'm not.I'm gaining a whole new respect for the vocalists--these are great tunes, but they just don't carry nearly the same energy without the singers. Stating the obvious, I guess. What you'll hear: 1. Won't Get Fooled Again (The Who)2. Jump (Van Halen)3. Baba O'Reilly (The Who)I've faded into and out of representative sections of each song just to hit the highlights. Welcome any and all comments. My system is obviously getting overloaded rendering these files, so you'll hear some dropouts occasionally.Vince--------------------------http://www.taxi.com/ideascapesFile Title: Karaoke Medley Sampler

Vince,That was fun to listen to. I've only got 'lyricist's ears' .. more like the ear of your average karaoke singer probably ... but I thought you nailed the intro to JUMP. The Who songs seemed pretty close too. The only thing I wondered about there were the cymbol crashes .. seemed pretty out front .. but that may be how they are ... I can't remember .. either way I liked them that way.Dean

I liked 'em all... though I thought Jump was the closest. The only constructive feedback I can give is:Seems the drums were a little squared-off in Won't Get Fooled Again. Either too much quantization or do they need to be nudged back a tad in time?Great stuff! I have great respect for you guys who can do this stuff. My best,Derek

Dean, yeah, I guess we can't be critiquing the lyrics on these classics--most probably wouldn't stand up, but maybe we weren't listening as closely back then! I'll listen to the cymbals again--thanks..Derek, thanks for the input on the "Won't Get Fooled" drums. Keith Moon was a wild drummer, but he probably had better time than I. I'll listen closer for that.Vince

I love it! I specially like the Van Halen, I can even see people playing air guitar with this.Have a question that has nothing to do with this, Im just nosy. Why a song named Samba Dee? Awesome tune too!
