Re: ESCAPE - 2nd Epic Orchestra (Melody Added)
This is not my strongest area to advise... but I liked Escape. My only suggestion would be to bring the electric guitar hits "forward." There was a lot of stuff going on that was panned extremely L and R and the center stuff could use a boost. I thought the guitar would fill hole nicely.Good luck with it.Derek

K-I like it and gave you high marks on the poll. I liked the action, I liked the mix. I've put a lot of time into studying pro sounding BG and in my opinion this could find a home as BG on TV or film. My 2 cents.I would be disappointed if it did not at least get a forward. Of course, I heard some pretty solid tunes get the kick back from reviewers.GB

Fun track. Loved the guitar sound with the orchestra. (All orchestras should include guitar!) I like the brass part at 1:08 especially.

Hey Kel, I've been traveling so I'm hearing this for the first time. Definitely think the guitars can come up. On my studio headphones, the pounding drums were overwhelming almost everything else. I think it's partly because of their volume, and partly because they seem to have just enough of a pitch to be distracting. You might have to filter, bring down the volume, use an unpitched sample, or all of the above. I also might have been hearing a slight "machine-gun" effect there (where the same sample is triggered consecutively and sounds unnatural).VinceP.S. Which part did Orest advise you on--the "taking a loan" part, or the "getting EWQLSO" part?

Re: ESCAPE - 2nd Epic Orchestra (Melody Added)
I think this has the potential to be a very exciting track. There are many things you could do with the orchestration to spice it up and add clarity to the mix. Here are just a few thoughts:The intermittent string melody speaks a bit late. You might slide those tracks back to fit the groove better. Or you could find a crisper articulation and cut back on the surround mic position (or added reverb, if any). For variety, you could occasionally double the string melody with winds (clarinet, oboe, flute, perhaps), or even create a counter melody in the winds to play off the string melody. The "dah, dah dah" string stabs could be enhanced by adding some percussion to those accents, like tambourine and/or snare drum, or slapstick, castanets, staccato crash cymbals, etc.Eventually the brass enters with a countermelody, but there are other things the brass could do: growling crescendos, stabs, etc.The low percussion feels quantized, repetitive, and without the type of dynamic variations that characterize real performances. It would take a bit of work, but making some adjustments there would go a long way toward creating excitement and realism. The guitar seems to occupy a different space than the orchestra. I'm not sure if that helps or hurts the overall mix, but you might try experimenting with widening its spacial position or adding a touch of reverb.Good work!Richard

I followed very closely with the little time left to get this right...I really hope I got it right now... if not I'l keep working at it, however, I can't tell myself so I still need re-feedback if possible...Thanks so much for Ur time Everyone...Vince & Orest... the loan part was my own idea, just to clarify ^_^-Kel

Lovin' the big dirty guitar sound! Very industrial sounding.I think it would suit perfectly in some action game or an action section of a game like James Bond or Metal Gear Solid as someone suggested earlier.Nice piece! Good work!Colm.
