Blackbird quirky re-mix

Post by billg » Thu May 07, 2009 2:49 am

I received a call out Tues. looking for quirky covers from the 60's-70's or quirky re-mixes of classic rock. It's for a new tv show and they wanted "upbeat, bright," all of those adjectives because this takes place in Utopia. I forwarded the email to Wade and he sent this back & I got the email this morning that it's been accepted.this is really cool, I feel good about it. Only wish I could take some credit for the re-mix!http://www.billgaunce.com/song/121

I love that! After listening to it I feel noticeably more relaxed and cheerful. Now that's an accomplishment.

Ha ha, interesting happy take on this. Very well put together, IMO. Could hear this in a commercial or in film/tv. Good job.

Congrats Bill. Very nice.I especially like the flute (or whatever flute-like sound that is) sound in the mix. I'm not sure if it was intended to portray the imagery of a Blackbird making its rounds, but if so, very creative use of an instrument to “paint” a sound “picture.”GB

Yep. Very, very cool. Love the techno flute sound in there. Great re-mix Wade. Still really love this vocal ... Bill, you should do more 'smooth' vox like this. Maybe you do, and I just don't hear them.Dean

Wow...a new side of Bill...your voice usually has that raspy whiskey character, but you sound a little bit smooth like Robert Goulet. This piece is wonderful....I can see why they want it...congrats, Bill and Wade!
