quirky re-mixes
the call was for quirky re-mixes of classic covers from the 60's for a tv show, here's another.Me on vocals & bass & Wade did the rest. This is pretty strange . . . it's that new "Acid Bossa Nova" genre that's all the rage Under My Thumb V2http://www.billgaunce.com/song/122

Re: quirky re-mixes
I remember the 'non quirky' version of this and thought it absolutley killed. Your voice sits perfectly on this track. Really stellar work Bill. The octave git solo is short, sweet and too the point. Made me want to hear more; that's a good thing. My nits (that's all they are though)The synth part is cool, but I might bring it down a db or 2. It's so wide and hot that it tends to pull my focus away from the vox I love the bass approach, but it sounds a little bit too syruppy on my gateway speakers with sub.I'm not down with the hard stop for an ending, but it's better than a fade outAgain, really nice work. Woah... this one hit me funny bone... kept me smiling man!Love the synth parts... what synth did U use? Also Bill, I have been wondering... U have this very warm tape saturation sound over Ur mixes... almost like Ur using some vintage tubes... Is it deliberate? and if so, could U share what it is U use for that nice warm sound?I agree that the synth could be brought down just a little...Very quirky yet cool indeed! Ur works are consistently Awesome I feel.Peace is Cool,Kel

Thanks Erich and Kel!kel I appreciate the compliment on the mix but this one is Wade's! I know that we both use some of the same plugs. Not sure what he used here, I'll ask him and get back to you. My guess is going to be that it's a combination of the Kjaerhus & Voxengo plugs that you like.

Cool mix, Bill. I could easily see this being used...quirky, yet still recognizable.V>
