Epic Instrumental
Well, this is my first new piece since returning from India. Here's the listing:EPIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS are wanted by the Director of Music at an L.A. based Music Library/Publisher with current MAJOR film and TV placements (e.g. Film: Twilight, I Love You, Man, He's Just Not That Into You, Television: Ugly Betty, True Blood, Beverly Hills 90210, and many more). He is looking for "the biggest, most epic modern/hybrid orchestral pieces available." He said it doesn't have to be a live orchestra but it definitely should not sound like you used "samples".The piece is called Deus Ex Machina, which I remember from my theater studies years ago means God From A Machine. In a Greek play, when things couldn't get any worse and there was no way out, God would come down from the sky (lowered by a machine) and save the day. The modern equivalent is the cavalry appearing to save the day in a western. Deus Ex Machina also happens to be a Latin phrase in the Word Builder application for East West choirs, so it seemed an appropriate title. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueLots East West all over this: EWQLSO, Symphonic Choirs, Ministry of Rock. Also Superior Drummer and Omnisphere.Enjoy!!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: Epic Instrumental
Mazz,Definitely EPIC!!!!Just a couple reactions. One, nice fake guitar solo!!! Fits the high energy of the track.I would like to hear more of the voices when they enter, they seemed to be a little buried. There seems to be room for more cymbal swells on transitions from section to section. "Elite Orchestral Percussion's" section for cymbals is terrific if you haven' t explored that part of the library. The track seemed to end too quickly for me. I was "riding the energy" and wanted more!!As always, great work.Chuck

Yeah, Mazz, that's epic! You've done especially well with the brass and the rock instruments are blended nicely.I'm with Chuck on the voices, especially around 1:15 when the trumpets come in strong again--would be nice to hear the voices cutting through a bit more.Good luck with this--sounds like one of the successful (but not giant) LA libraries.Vince

Mazz,Wow! I spent five minutes looking for my socks after they got knocked off.....This is so far out of my league that I hesitate to comment, BUT I do agree with Chuck that it would be great to ride the energy for a while longer as you take it out.Cool tune. What an effort on your part!Al

Re: Epic Instrumental
I really like it!!! I especially like the indefinite rhythm at the beginning and later. Nice contrast between the standard rock rhythm at about 15. There is also nice contrast and texture between the brass and the guitar for use as the melodic element. I think beginning at about around 27, after stating your melodic theme there is a rhythmic string part in the background that I personally would like to hear just a bit more of, up to about 40. Overall, the track sounds epic to me and is full of bright energy. Well done Mazz!!!Keith
I hear the voice of God in a bending guitar string!
