Re: Epic Instrumental
Thanks for the listen and encouragement and feedback everyone!!I would have loved to make this one longer but it does take a lot of "butt in the chair" hours to put one of these together, probably 18 hours over 3 days (maybe more, I didn't keep track). Partly it was my first shot out the gate after a couple of months off and partly it just takes a long time to get it to sound right, and the deadline was right in the middle of my work week, so an abbreviated version was born out of necessity. It also didn't hurt that my wife was out of town for a couple of days so some midnight oil burning those days helped a lot too!Chuck, I had considered using more cymbals but I use so much of that stuff that I thought I'd go without them to see how it felt. Your feedback is duly noted but I can't help but think you're giving me back a little of my own medicine on that one! The Les Paul from Ministry of Rock does a pretty good imitation if I don't try to push it and play some "chopsy" stuff. The long notes with the vibrato sampled in feel really expressive to me.I kind of like how the choir sits back a bit to give the illusion that they're standing behind the orchestra and you can't really understand the words, but I might try a mix with them up a bit. My vision was a "textural melody" to kind of answer the main melody but I can hear where you're going with wanting to hear them a bit louder. Thanks again for listening folks. We'll see how this comes out!Cheers!MazzPS: Direct link to my page for those that have trouble streaming:http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.p ... johnmazzei

Re: Epic Instrumental
hi Mazz, muchas gracias por "la link"great work, comments: --i wouldn't "crowd" it anymore with cymbals--i think the choral/vocal is placed just right--i only listened once, and it's an "effect" (affect?) to me, don't really want to hear any words anyway.--i'd up the guitar just a bit, it's a cool break and it sounds a bit too far back, and maybe not as full/"deep"/lower end? as it could be.--i dig the "insect" sound in the entry, very cool and different, i know you've got it panned, but would actually like it a bit more so too my ear, i know it's not a part of the "instrumental" entry, but it's there IMHO as an important part to your entry, so i'd like to hear that sound a bit cleaner, it's edgy--"edgy-er?"great job as always,,,,you probably have it sold already anyway...my 1 centavo...the best, warren

Trying to find something wrong with your pieces, Mazz, is like trying to find a cow patty on a street in Brooklyn.....it's a non-existent kind of thingy. Just fantastic....I think you've hit a home run too.
