My Song
Hi,I had posted a more primitive version of this tune a while ago. Now I have have almost finished it with the addition of a couple guitar tracks. I'm was shooting for the country genre but think it may lean more toward rock-a-billy. Hope you will put an ear on it. Any feedback at all is appreciated.Thanks.Randyhttp://www.members.cox.net/icemanmusic/HowTheW ... sess15.mp3

Re: My Song
hi Randy--this is a quality tune and production. VERY well done.my only comments are, FWIW----i'd like to hear the vocal just a bit less reverb-y, can't make out all the lyrics, which are quite cool on 3rd listen--BUT THAT SAID, I'VE HAD MY CANS ON ALL DAY....ears might be fried...--i ALMOST said that the hook/title wasn't correct, but you pounded it more towards the end, but i thought the hook/title was "How the two step's done." as that is pounded nicely until 1:38....with only slight mention of the "west" line. may i make a suggestion? early on when you end with "how the two step's done" that you add a line (you have room), which of course would be " how the west was won", that way it's pounded all the way through...IMHO, this tune is borderline great, and i don't throw that word around much.that's all i got, dig it,,,,,lyrics quality, cool ending to the story...the best, warren

Re: My Song
Randy,Yeah, super intro! Great instrumental blend here. I did find the echo on the vocal a bit distracting, and it adds a little sibilance, which is unfortunate because you have a catchy tune here otherwise.I remember your first post of this, but can't exactly recall what you changed on the lyric, if anything. What usage are you going for?Vince

Re: My Song
Vince, Kel and Warren. Thanks. Good suggestions on the vocal echo...easy enough to open the mix and back off on a virtual slider. Hopefully it will make 'cowgirl chic' sound less like 'cowgirl sheep'! Ha,ha. 'sheep' kinda' works though...in it's own twisted way.As for the genre, the intention was country but I may be off base. It's out on submission but have not received any responses, yet. It is what it is. I'm just submitting it to any listing remotely suitable. No doubt some screener will be happy to tell me 'exactly' where it is at. On my initial posting. which was just drums with a crude guitar guide track, bass and vocals, somebody implied that I should hire a pro studio to record it. A good suggestion, but no way I can afford that. Suggestions were also made on melody changes. I made some changes but after laying down the final guitar tracks, I decided to screw it and go back to the original version. Just worked better for me. If I get forward, I'll crow about it on the appropriate forum. Thanks again for your interest, guys.Randy
