The guitars are real and played by me. But I'm no hard rock guitarist, so I'm trying the best I can . I have lower the volume on the guitars, and added some more depth to it now.

Alexander,42 channels? Now, that's epic! It's well done. I hear the repetition, but don't think that'd keep it from being used. It does seem to need more depth/harmonic support but think you could build that from here to fill it out (assuming your system can handle it, or you'll have to bounce some). I think the guitars work fine, but could be played with a little more "fire."Vince

Well, I'm still working on this piece, and will do some changes before I'm satisfied! It's so great to have you guys/gals pointing out what I've missed, or giving some great ideas as well. When you do everything by yourself, it's easy to get stuck in your own ideas/productions.

I thought I could chime in here, coming from a metal band myself and self producing our album, which of course included thick heavy guitar sounds. Not saying I'm a master or anything, but I've done it.First of all I think this track is excellent - definitely epic. The guitar chords at the end of the track would be better IMO if they were doubled, and panned hard left/right. As in, take 1 panned left, take 2 panned right. This adds a ton of depth. I also would like to hear them an octave lower if possible. Cutting the mids at around 500-800 hz will scoop it out a little and make it heavier sounding (although it's hard to tell where it sits right now because its so quiet).I have a habit of picking apart guitar sounds to death - it doesn't need that much work but I'll always lean toward more polishing...

Well, I have the same problem myself. This version has 1 guitar panned hard left and the other hard right with 2 different sounds. Maybe I will record 2 more with 2 other guitar sound as well to thicken it up! Think you have a point regarding the mids as well. I will try that! Thanks!

It's more about doubling the performance. Take the same sound, and record it twice, the exact same way. The subtleties in the two performances is what deepens it. you'll see what I mean...
