Boogietime

Here's a little something i threw together. I was after a classic 70's funk style track in the vein of KC & the Sunsine Band etc.Let me know your thoughtshttp://www.isound.com/dance_academy

Real nice job, IMO. Nice big sound. Maybe put the sax solo up front a little more with some delay or reverb. But that is pretty much a matter of personal taste. At first I thought the vocals could come up a little but as I listened, they seemed OK. Another subjective item.I dig it. The chording used at the begining reminded me of Average White Band.-Randy

Thx Iceman. I wasn't too sure myself what to add to the sax solo but i think you're right, a bit more reverb might not go amiss. Average White Band, now there was a band lol

Dang, and to think I threw out my platform shoes! It's really good... you've nailed the sound for sure, but I felt like maybe the lead singer needs a bit more energy in the performance. Maybe he got disco fever??Cam

Yeah, had me up and dancing! Luckily, nobody else was awake, but the dog did look at me with head tilted. Really well done and pretty faithful to the era/style. A few times the vocal melody sounded a little too straight/on the beat, but that was minor. How did you do the horns?Vince

Thx for those that have replied so far, mucho appreciated. I'm a bit of a sample freak, i have over 100,000 stashed away and this was one of those occasions when i looked up some horn samples. The sax is actually a mate of mine so that was pretty easy to do. All mixed in ACID Pro 6, 44 channels used lol
