Hi Patrick, brilliant track, brilliant voice. You're clearly gaining more confidence vocally all the time.I have nothing constructive (or non-positive) to say other than I am with Paul on the "ever here" - it's doesn't quite sit with me because it's something I can't imagine saying or hearing in conversation.Personally I would go for "forever here" with a quick "for" syllable to fit it in the same space.Best of luck with it.tt

Hey Vince, yes this is a great resource here... kinda like the screening BEFORE the screening ha ha! You've always got some useful harmonic suggestions and I will definitely look into that last chord. On the bridge I see your point... I was going over it in my mind and ended up using that just because I was jamming on in it up and really wanted to incorporate it into the song.. but you're right about it being a hyped up p/c!Paul, good to see you back and thanks! No it's my real Seagull acoustic mic'd with a R0DE NT1000.. I'm still learning to master my voice so positive feedback on it is always encouraging I mic'd the vocals on a Gauge ECM-87 courtesy of Rob Chiarelli and Chandler Bridges. I actually did have the lyric as "Forever Here" first but thought that was a bit cliched so I thought.. hmmm just drop the "for" and it's way cooler ha ha!Kel wow thanks! I'm not familiar with a lot of Mr. Bigs stuff but I may go back and take a listen. I had the chorus and somehow the verse just dropped into my lap without much work. I hope to keep raising the bar for myself and this is great place to grow around so many talented people who are ALSO positive and helpful.

Wow thanks TT!! I have been working HARD on my voice for the past couple years and especially this year so that's very exciting to hear. In my last band I was NEVER confident on stage and struggle with pitch a lot even though I had taken lessons in high school and studied on my own. Several times I thought about giving up on singing and only being a songwriter. This past year I've been studying the Brett Manning method, taking lessons from one of his associates and I think I'm starting to see the fruits of my work. It's an uphill climb but worth it!I hear you on the "ever here". I thought.. hmmm, does that WORK? But then I remembered "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters and decided that gave me permission ha ha!

Ha! Considering what I'd just posted, reading your comments back to Paul made me laugh Seriously though, it doesn't NOT work, it just stuck out.Great stuff, genuinely mean what I say about your vocal progress, and look forward to hearing more.tt

Patrick, it's funny you'd call this a demo. heck, I'd put another guitar (electric, something jangly) in the other stereo field for balance, add harmonies in the chorus, some bass and drums and I think this will be very strong. Your voice sounds great!

ha ha TT... and thanks again! Bill thanks! You may be right there. A solid simple arrangement may be all I need. Been listening a lot to the new Fray record which sounds great.. fairly traditional production but with all these subtle little things in there seems like. I took a production arrangement class at the Rally with the basic message being less is more. He said go listen to some of your favorite albums and you'll find much LESS going on then you may have thought. I agree but it seems like I'll hear little tiny bits of textures in there that really make a difference. That class also taught me the magic of the shaker!
