Space-Age Bachelor Pad & Oceans11 Forwards

Post by mbloomquist » Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:50 am

Hello everyone,I've been a TAXI member since October '07 and I went to the Rally this past November. After my first 6 library instrumental pieces were all Returns, I am happy to report that #7 and #8 were both Forwards this week. One of the things that I've learned is to do the necessary amount of research to nail the appropriate style while also letting my own personality come out. Below are the listings and music. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... STRUMENTAL SOUNDTRACK COMPOSITIONS a la David Holmes' "Ocean's Eleven" score needed by an established LA-based Music Library. Solid instrumental performances that capture the "vibe" are definitely essential. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=1HIPSTER LOUNGE/SPACE-AGE POP/EXOTICA SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Esquivel, Martin Denny, Stereolab, Arthur Lyman, Saint Etienne, etc. are needed by an established and prominent LA-based Music Library. Great vocals and instrumental performances are essential. Male or female vocals OK. No lyrical restrictions - all themes are OK. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. - Mikey B.

Hey mbloomquist, Archie's Revenge was sweet, and Wistler's Delight made me laugh out loud! Great work, and I'm confident these songs will find a job out there and get to work you for. Nice Work!

Thanks guys. DJ -- I'm glad that Whistler's Delite made you laugh. As I was doing the research for the 'hipster' listing, I discovered the mind-curdling music of Esquivel, and that's the direction that I tried to go with it.- Mikey B.

Hey mikeyi was able to check out the oceans tune. Very cool.. i like the horn sounds, and the record scratching sound really adds to the the piece. Gives it the analog vintage flavour.Good Work!Mike

Hi mbloomquistThanks for posting this. My submission was rejected so it was nice to hear, through example, what my piece lacked. I really enjoyed this. Good luck!mewman
