Hey Devin,Great start here. Couple thoughts: I'd get to the chorus sooner. I'm not sure what it is, but something about the changes for the verses that doesn't quite gel for me.. Regarding genre, I'd say it could go country, or roots rock ala counting crows perhaps.Nice work, thanks for posting this.Erich

Thanks Erich! I'm thinking it's a bit wordy...I tried singing it without the second verse before chorus #1, and it still floats that way.If you get any more thoughts on the "changes for the verses that doesn't quite gel for me" let me know. Is it the music, melody, subject? etc.

i'm getting kind of a spanish vibe.i'd say to go texmex country with it (is that anything???)good story and i like the idea of getting to the chorus sooner.

Hey Devin... I say pop.... you know what this reminds me of... in Pulp Fiction... there's a scene with Travolta and Uma Therman and I think the tune she puts on is Urge Overkill... the intro took me right there.... the intro they use would work here too...I like this...Peace, Geo

Hey Dev!I think ya' need ta' hurry and put a bass part in there, just ta' kinda' solidify everything. I can hear where you're goin' with this. That bass part would pull things together for sure. I'm no good with lyrics, I can only comment about the music. You should probably just go ahead and flesh this tune out completely. For me, it's kinda' empty without the rest of the Devin Band fillin' in, so it's hard to really get into it. You know what I'm sayin'! I think ya' possibly got sumpin' here though. Just my $.02.ibanez468

Devin, this first struck me as country . I do hear that tex mex sound Marc mentioned. I think the lyric is good. Sounds like a true story to me. The hook is a nice play on words. Seems like too many syllables in the line "3 innocent small reasons for us" could work without the word innocent or the word small, one or the other. Only thing jumped out to me. I like the song.
