Latin Instrumentals
If you have a spare moment, please listen to this tune and let me know if it is a good match for this listing:LATIN SONGS and INSTRUMENTALS are wanted by a successful Production Music Library/Publisher that has signed and placed tons of TAXI writers/songs over the years for use in corporate videos, TV, film, radio, and commercial productions. For SONGS, they are looking for both traditional and contemporary styles and lyrics must be in Spanish. For INSTRUMENTALS, they are looking for ALL STYLES. Your track can have a lead melody or simply be a great-sounding backing track/bed. Overall, the performances/production must be excellent and the recordings need to be Broadcast Quality (great home recordings should be fine). They offer a very fair deal with a 5-year reversion clause. Please submit one to three songs and/or instrumentals online or per CD, include lyrics for song pitches. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Monday, March 23, 2009. TAXI #Y090323LAThanks much!http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.p ... scapesSong title is Sambossa

Re: Latin Instrumentals
The guitar playing and sound is awesome! I think this tune fits the listing mentioned above. A few things though. I would make the drums a little bit more "alive" if I were you. More fills, and maybe change the drum beat a bit in the end. The violin is a bit "in front of you", I think it takes over too much in the sound image, Lower the volume a few db. Another thing I've learned, don't fade out. This will make your changes even bigger to get a forward.I listened one more time, maybe you could play a live guitar instead of the violin, and use the violin in the melody line instead? If you make some changes, I think you will have a good chance to get a forward!

This is a great little track! Nicely done.Orest pretty much nailed it IMO. The drums could pop a little more; not louder just a little punchier. Same with the bass, just a little rounder, chunkier and present. I think that the violin has a way of diminishing the latin vibe, maybe replace it with a Santana'ish electric git? Still, I could see this making it through TAXI as is. Nice job!Erich

I think you have a forward on your hands. I like the flamenco guitar and the melody works well for me.I would love to hear a conga or bongo pattern in there to give it a little more traditional spice, but the track definitely meets the criteria listed.Well done.Cisko

Re: Latin Instrumentals
Hi Vince,Nice track! I agree that it fits the bill. I also agree that the rhythm could get beefed up a bit. The drop in the middle is pretty dramatic. It might benefit some additional percussion here too! Thanks for sharing. I think this would be very effective background music.Al

Re: Latin Instrumentals
Thanks for the guitar compliments, Alexander. It's my 2nd instrument, so I'm always happy when I can pull it off credibly. I probably will mess with the drums/percussion since you, tele, cisko, and al all mentioned it, and yeah, maybe I'll even pull out the e. guitar and my Santana hat.Funny you should mention flamenco, BrindaB. I tried to picture a Spanish dancer as I played it and I think that visualization helped.Back to chopping wood!V>
