Thanks EO, I agree that git and vox need to go dead center, good callThanks for the hollar Devin. Nothing to be jealous about here, just some good ole' heartfelt pickin. I did my taxes before writing this one, thought I was getting several K back, turns out I owe several hundred.... grrrrrrr. No need to qualify your advice or put any proviso's around it; your word and ears are as good as anyone else's around here man. I agree that the vox need to pop a bit more, maybe not RP, but they do want to blow harder than I have emThanks IS, I'm working on a new mix. My thought was to get a different sound for the vox and gits to get some seperation, but I think I bandpassed the vox too much. That is distortion you hear on the git, but it's natural dist. I have an old Stella Harmony guitar that I use for this stuff. It's a pawnshop find, and it sounds like that when you hit it hard. It's old and wored out like me most days....Thanks geo, those are Pink Salmon. Another run is due late August early September this year. I plan to quit my day job and move into a van down by the river then. Come by and visit if you want to tug some lip, just bring a sleeping bag and a quart of 2 cycle oil....Thanks all for the great input and help. I've been playing around with this one a bit. I pulled up an old Sony plugin called Acoustic Mirror and applied a tube mic response file with some very pleasing results. I'll probably use the same plug for the 'verb on this track too, a small church or large room response file probably I'll post up when the alt mix is done.Cheers!

This is great! I wish I had as good a slide technique as you obviously do. If you are trying to emulate the sounds of Robert Johnson you have to think mics. Back in the day all they had were vocals mics and just for speaking really... Lots of midrange and not much else. I do not by any means think you should try to make it sound like it was recorded back in the day at all! Scratchy and all that...I think I would try boosting the mids on both the guitar and vocals just a bit. Try to make it just a little dirty sounding. Back the guitar down a tad and you are there! If anything, its almost too perfect for Delta Blues. Know what I mean?Good LuckKeith
