New IG88 Instrumetal
I am working on the vocals right now. Some honest production feedback would help a lot. Since most people have been having soundcloud trouble here is the myspace link. Sorry about the squashed myspace player qualityHector Goes Fishingwww.myspace.com/dadtakevcr

Hi,This process is kind of like looking at a portrait before the face has been painted. The clothes and background are perfectly fine but what will set this apart will be a killer vocal and lyrics. Otherwise, it sounds, to me, fairly middle of the road production-wise, which may be what you are going for. I could be wrong, but this style prides itself on coming up with unique sounds and I couldn't help but thinking I'd heard it all somewhere before. You've obviously got production chops but it sounds to me like you're holding back too much in the creativity department as far as using those chops.I listened to some other stuff too and I like the vision of the band but again, everything just sounded a bit "safe" and a little too cool emotionally, for my taste anyway. There's greatness lurking in there, go for it!!Looking forward to hearing the finished product.Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Pretty interesting track - shades of Massive Attack and Morcheeba to my ears so I definitely dig it.From the production side of things - the track sounds good. It is solid as Electronica comes. If the idea is to get some placements, I can see this working well in a chill ambiance. It would fit perfectly well in a music library that specializes in Electronica. If you are shooting at being artists - sorry to say no new ground broken here. Massive Attack and Tricky were revolutionary at this in the 90s and set the gold standard. Blue Lines is one of my favorite records of all time. Your track sounds closer to Mezzanine era which was also an amazing record.I think to really break through you need to raise it to a whole new level. You need records that come across like a kick in the head. It's like hearing Sneaker Pimps "Six Underground" or Underworld's "Born Slippy" for the first time, where you just go WTF was that? I need to hear that record again! To me most Electronica is treading water these days, basically recycling itself. I long to hear a record as groundbreaking as Blue Lines, Maxinquaye, or Vegas. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the track and with the vocals on it I may dig it a good deal more.Keep creating!Best,Cisko

This sounds good.... not a huge fan of the genre and what I do like is dated so grain o' salt with my comments....It builds a little slow for my liking.... I understand lyrics are going to be added but I think it's missing a lead instrument... even with vocals a counter melody on a distinct sounding patch/pad would add to the interest..,.What is your plan/goal for the tune?Peace, Geo

It might have a different feel after vocals are finished.

I moved so i cant jam with them anymore. I am still young so i hope someday i can make something to give people a gentle "Kick to the head". It would be very nice to make music for sci fi series or something.

The texture is constantly changing so i can have them weave together. My plan is too add a bit more, mix it some and have breathy female vocals over it. Then eventually release it to people that are interested in this genre. Thank you for your time.
