Country Rock - Leave Me Alone
Would like opinions.for a listing calling for upbeat song that references "chillin', cruisin', takin' it easy"http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... &q=hiVerse OneI've been givin' all I canI've been workin' 8 to 8I'm tappin' outIt's time for someone else to tow this weightI need time to refreshI need time to relaxI'm breakin' free, don't look for me'Cause I covered all my tracksChorusGonna chill out with my favorite songTake it easy all day longCruise on down the highway til I'm goneLeave my troubles in the trashTake a breather, spend some caseLeave all my cares behind me, don't even try to find meCan't you take a hint? Leave me alone.........Verse TwoNothing looks much better thanA cold Corona and a mile of sandForget about my jobBecause I'm workin' on my tanNo bills to pay, no yards to mowI'm doin' what I pleaseSomebody call the doctor'Cause I've got "screw it" diseaseRepeat Chorus

Re: This is for a rush job.......quick opinions?
Think the melody is very memorable, and that's VERY good!! Loved the guitar playing, it added flavor. Maybe add a piano/organ to the last chorus? I think that would lift it, or/and a tambourine. The first and second chorus sounded the same, and if you want to lift the song even higher, than you might want to consider something like that! Just my opinion, don't know exactly what the listing is asking for, but the song sounded very well produced! The vox isn't a 100% in the pitch here and there, but that's a small matter I think.Great hook!/Alexander

Hey I'm too late probably but thought I'd take a listen. Lyrics look good. I wanted "screw it" to be phrased so it sounds a little edgier. Alexander gave some good advice. The vocals are pitchy in spots. I felt the mix needed a little work. But perhaps what I'm listening to is a first draft. Good start tho - let us know how ya did

Good Song! The guitar fills may be just a bit hot in some spots. You have an intonation problem in the choruses. Mainly vocals clashing with the lead guitar. I can't tell for sure which is in tune and which in not. Overall the mix is very good!Good Luck!Keith

Mark,New mix sounds pretty good. My only nit is the bass and kick could have more presence.Vocals sound cool and it is a very singable melody. For this style , americana, country rock, a little pitchy-ness here and there isnt too big of a deal.I really like this tune. Nice job!Matt

Re: Country Rock - Leave Me Alone
Hi Mark... Dig this!!! Really cool feel... nice sing along chorus... got three things that struck me during the listen....A cold Corona and a mile of sandIt's a cool line... but what if the client is Bud Lime? An ice cold beer and a mile of sandNot as cool but safer... if it was an artist pitch I wouldn't even mention this...Your verses set up a nice "sick of work" vibe... it might be a good idea to tie that into the chorus... just to clarify who you want to leave you alone... something like...Leave all my cares behind me, don't even try to find meBoss can you take a hint? Leave me alone.........The last suggestion is how about a short pre-chorus/break before the second chorus? it would help to transition into a big final chorus and break up the song a little. If it's for say a commercial that may not matter but I think it would add something nice...As is it's a very cool track!!Good stuff!!Peace, Geo

Thanks guys. Geo, I agree with you. Corona sounded cliche too me but it fit with the pattern in my head. I appreciate the review.

Re: Country Rock - Leave Me Alone
Hey mcanty!Just got done listenin'! Sounded a little harsh through my speakers, like there's possibly some distortion or somethin' somewhere, but I've been listening to tunes for 45 minutes now and haven't heard that type of harshness on anyone elses. Yeah, there are some pitchy vocals in spots. Not a lyrics person, so I can't help there. I'd hate to see this fall short because of "broadcast quality" issues. It's a hurtin' feelin'. Hope that helps.ibanez468
